Hello there!

It has been a little while since i posted the Water Tile, and I wanted to give an update on how things are doing, regarding the Fantasy Project (I have yet to think of an actual name, I do apologize).

Firstly, since I need to juggle between several things at the moment, updates will unfortunately have to stay as inconsistent as they are now, though I will try to secure a more stable flow eventually.

Secondly, I have started to learn a 3D program by the name of Blockbench (with which I'm sure many people are familiar). While I do want to learn more about 3D modelling on a general level, the intent is also to expand on my project in 3D; once I get the hang of it that is.

As such, it is likely that Tiles will be displayed in 3D from there on, for example.

Greetings!

First of all, I apologize; I had intended on posting something tonight, but as it stands, the drawing technique needed still eludes me.

Nevertheless, seeing that I wanted to provide an update, a textual explanation will have to do.

What I wanted to talk about are tiles.

In this project, tiles are what battlemaps are made out of; the terrain characters walk onto and interact with. While the majority of a map's tiles will be Neutral, without any effect that triggers when moving onto or from them, there are many tile types that appear on battlemaps with specific effects and interactions, and furthermore, certain characters from certain classes will be able to interact with those tiles and even turning them into different sorts of tiles entirely.

While my three first pieces were weapons, I wish to focus on other parts of that game, and to have a broader approach. This is however challenged by my skill which is as of yet not developed enough. I intend on changing that as we go on.

Rest assured that I will have things to show you very soon! Until next time.

Post-Scriptum: I have updated the tags of my previously posted pieces and writings to include the "dmg-fantasy-project" so as to make sure everything is grouped together neatly.

One of the reasons why I wanted to create my own game system is that I haven't found games that scratch the itch I have in the way I want, so to speak.

As I mentionned before, this project is a tabletop tactical RPG; a genre that usually rhymes with complicated rules and interactions, which can make them fairly dense and hard to get into.

What I would like to do is to make a game that is complex, but in a way that is not overwhelming; with enough rules to have fun and be creative within fights, without having to keep the rulebook opened. That is one of my wishes for this game. Complex enough to be interesting but not complicated, if that makes sense.

Now, we are still at the beginning of it all, though I have been able to nail down quite a few things I want or don't want to have in the final product. From there on, I will try my best to give you, my readers, regular updates.

I should add, if you have any question, please, do ask away! It'd be a pleasure to answer them.

Hello there!

This account was made as a fresh start, since my old one was very messy, what with me not knowing what I wanted to do and having troubles focusing (ADHD be like and such, heh).

So then, I want for this account to be a display of what I like to do most: item designs and lore, sometimes going hand in hand, sometimes not. As such, my two favored genres are scifi and fantasy, though I will be straying away from that every so often.

I hope you will find what I post in here to be interesting, and in any case, thank you very much for checking this account out!
